As President of Agri-Placement Services, Inc. for the past 11 years, F. Brandon Mallory oversees day-to-day business operations, provides agricultural human resources consulting services and leads agricultural human resources professionals engaged in agricultural employee staffing activities. After being developed and launched as a division of Dairylea Cooperative, Inc. in October 1999 under Mallory’s direction as an agricultural labor consultant, Mallory transitioned APS into a successful, independent organization in December 2000. Under Mallory’s supervision, APS member clientele has grown from 1 member business in New York to 56 member businesses in 10 different states from Maine to Virginia.
In 2008, in an effort to expand APS services and share expertise, Mallory formed a business relationship with MásLabor. Located in Lovingston, Virginia, MásLabor is the largest expert company in the field of H-2 visa petitions, employee sourcing and placement. To emphasize networking in agriculture, Mallory became the new executive director of Mid-American Agriculture and Horticulture Services (MAAHS) based in Ohio in January 2009. Through these connections, Mallory offered consultation on ascertaining labor regulatory compliance, improving employee productivity and avoiding legal complications in the employment of immigrant labor, in addition to employee sourcing and placement.
Prior to developing APS, Mallory gained valuable leadership experience working in the agricultural sector in various supervisory positions. These positions included working briefly as the Director of Migrant and Dairy Labor for American Ag-Employers, 8 years as the Rural Labor Services Representative for the NYS Dept. of Labor, 6 years as the Investigator/Auditor and 4 years as the Farm Products Inspector for the NYS Dept. of Agriculture and Markets and 2 years as Poultry Products Inspector for the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture.
Not only does Mallory have years of experience working in the agricultural sector, but he also has a strong educational background which supports his ability to lead APS effectively. Mallory has done graduate work in management at St. John Fisher College Graduate School of Management, earned a BS degree in Agriculture-Poultry Science from Ohio State University, studied advanced Spanish at Nazareth College, traveled abroad for Spanish immersion in Guatemala and Ecuador and graduated from the LEAD New York program (Class VII) offered by the Empire State Food and Agricultural Leadership Institute at Cornell University.
